Project Objective
Serene Leaf's project goals were to create a grounded perfume identity that visually depicts their company values rooted in sustainability, quality, and medicinal relief. Environmentally aware companies thrive in the market as younger generations, such as Gen Z, are beginning to choose brands that use sustainable sources and match their values. Making package design
It was necessary to use packaging materials that were compostable or recyclable, and visually reiterated the company values to the consumer. Compelling evidence directed us to hemp as a replacement for paper or cardboard. The results were incredible. Hemp paper can be recyclable up to eight times, whereas tree paper can be recycled three times.
Hemp as agriculture is much more sustainable than the tree-paper industry. Hemp farming requires less water and fewer pesticides, making organic growing easy. Additionally, hemp production as a replacement for tree harvesting helps aid in the prevention of rainforest deforestation. CBD is a naturally calming supplement, used both topically or by ingesting. CBD is derived from the hemp plant as well as the packaging materials of the product.
The company name "Serene Leaf" emphasizes using the hemp plant for packaging, as well as an active ingredient in the perfume as CBD. The target market is young female adults, ages 25-33, post higher education and entering their careers.
